Kellen's First Night and Day at Home

Kellen had a great first night at home. He fussed when he was first put into his crib, but we quickly figured out how to get him to sleep. In fact, we are now trying to figure out how to keep him awake for feedings.

First Car Ride

Putting Kellen into his carseat was another reminder of how small he is compared to Campbell. He didn't seem to mind the ride home once we got him all strapped in.

Definitely Siblings

Family time

We spent some family time together on Thursday morning. Campbell really warmed up to her new little brother. Here she is resting her head on his.

Who knew you could have this much fun in a hospital room? The fun ended when Campbell started licking Liv's hospital bedrail... we decided it was time for her to go at that point!

Kellen's First Bath

Here is Kellen's first bath. Of course, he wasn't too thrilled with the event....but we thought it was picture worthy.

Kellen Is Born!!!

This picture was shot Wednesday morning. Liv was having somewhat regular contractions, so Campbell was timing them with Daddy's watch. After calling the Doctor, we went to the hospital at 11:30 AM.

And 5 hours later at 4:31, our little guy was born! They broke Liv's water at 1:30, and Kellen Loren was born just 3 hours later at 7 pounds 1 ounce, 2o inches long. Once again, the labor progressed too quickly...and she was unable to get an epidural. We had one small scare, where the baby was put under too much stress after a 10 minute long contraction and the cord being wrapped around his neck. Kellen's heart rate dropped very low, but the staff did an amazing job getting everything back to normal. We are so thankful for God's grace and for Him delivering Kellen to us safely and healthy!!

Our first family photograph. By this time, it was close to Campbell's bedtime. She wasn't very happy to be in the hospital with us and didn't want to get too close to baby Kellen. She warmed up the next morning though!

Baby Brother's Room

Not sure if we've posted of pictures of Brother's room, yet. It is fairly small room off of our bedroom, but it will be nice and cozy for him.

Behind the chair, there is another small room that has his dresser and other storage.

The crib is all ready to go. Now we just need the little guy to arrive!
At our doctor's appointment today, the doctor said that Liv is now 2 cm dilated and more effaced. Definite progress was made! She also said that once she gets to 4 cm, she will probably bring her into the hospital to monitor her because of how fast her labor with Campbell progressed.

Our Little Valentine

Campbell got the cute outfit for her birthday from Aunt Sarah, Uncle Bubba & her cousins. She has definitely gotten good use out of it the last few days.

Daddy took his "Big Valentine" out for a special dinner and a last date night before Baby Brother comes. The date concluded with a trip to Babies 'R Us to get new bottles and pick up a few other things. What a hot date!!!

Happy Birthday, Campbell!

Campbell celebrated her birthday with a dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings with Dad, Mom, Memaw, Aunt Weno, Pawpaw & Mimi. It was great fun! She got the hat at school, and of course, she had to wear it at dinner, too.

Pregnancy Update

We went to the doctor today for a checkup for Liv and Baby Brother. We are almost at Week 36 and are beginning to go every week for checkups. Today we learned that baby is weighing in at about 5 lbs, 12 oz. and is head down. The doctor doesn't think Liv will hold out until the due date of 3/10/09, but she also said she wants us to get at least another 7-10 days under our belts before this baby is born. That was quite a shock for us to hear, seeing that we thought we had at least 2 to 3 more weeks until we'd have another little one. It still means it could be that long too, but it means he could possibly be here sooner. Aaaaggghhhh!!! Thank goodness we just have a few more minor things to do before this baby gets here! Please keep us in your prayers as we enter this time of waiting and preparation for labor!

A Big First Step Towards...

... potty training. We are excited to announce that Campbell went to the potty for the first time on a "big girl potty." We were sitting at dinner and she said she had to go potty. Well, this was not the first time she's said it; in fact, she says it a lot but always cries when we try to put her on the potty. This time, though, she was all about getting on the new toilet seat that sits on top of the regular toilet seat. She sat there with Mom for a while, then she went "tinkle." It was so exciting! We are well aware that this is just the first step, but it is still very exciting nontheless.

Birthday Weekend Part II

Campbell's second birthday party of the weekend was celebrated with Liv's side of the family. Cousin Bernie (or Bernadetti, as Campbell calls her) is getting so big, too!

Mommy got to help Campbell open gifts at this party... so did Bernadetti.
Pawpaw & Mimi got Campbell this raincoat, hat, & pretend birthday cake set. She also got some cool summer clothes from the Horners and an adorable Valentine's Day outfit from the Chesebroughs!

The birthday princess hat that actually belongs to Liv's side of the family. All the girls on the Beaver side get to wear this hat on their special day.

Campbell had no problem blowing out her candles (at either party, actually). She has a great memory of how to do it from last year.

The hat didn't last too long, though. The cupcake was definitely her main concern.

The playroom came in really handy for all of the kids to play in and keep the mess contained! Mom was grateful for that! The kids did a great job of cleaning it up, though.

We got this easel from Liv's cousin, who has a daughter that is 1 year & 2 days older than Campbell. It was a hit of the party, especially for Campbell. She loves to color but is still learning not to waste the paper roll.

Birthday Weekend Part I

We decided to split up Campbell's birthday parties so that the crowd was a little less than last year's 1st birthday. So, Saturday began the festivities with the Warner side. Here is a picture of the gang minus a few who had to leave a little early.

Cousin Shannon and Campbell. Campbell thinks her big cousin is pretty funny. In fact, she didn't eat much of her dinner because she was enjoying her cousin too much.

Campbell began to open gifts with Auntie Arlene & Uncle Ray's gift. They gave her a pop-up book about farm animals and counting to 10.

Ultimately, Aunt Geri was the one who was chosen to help Campbell unwrap most of the gifts.

Uncle Mike & Aunt Geri got her some cute summer clothes, including this "Surf Princess" shirt. She loved it so much she had to try it on right away.

Campbell loved all her gifts, especially this table & chair set from Memaw and Aunt Weno. It goes perfect in the playroom.

We kept things pretty low key with some cupcakes and flowers that just wouldn't quite stay up straight. We figured next year Campbell would be able to tell us exactly what she wants, so simple would be great this year!
