We woke up to find a mama and baby deer in our backyard. Luckily, Bailey had not been out to the bathroom yet, so Andy was able to capture the moment.

A Visit from Miss Lilly (& Her Mommy & Daddy, too)!!!

We finally got to meet Kellen's girlfriend this weekend... Miss Lily McAlpine. She is the daughter of Liv's best friend from college, Beth and her husband Chris. We had so much fun meeting Lily and visiting with her mommy & daddy at the lake.

Bernie was at the lake that weekend, too. Campbell and Bernie are great (and ornery) buddies and like to wear the dresses their Mimi made them.

Austin's Early 1st Birthday Party

We had a "surprise" birthday party for Austin, the son of our friends Jeremy & Adrienne. He will turn one on July 3rd. He is such a cute, well-behaved, curly-haired little boy. He, Christian (another friend), and Campbell are really starting to interact & play together, and it is so fun to watch.

Preparing for the 4th of July

Uncle Mike & Aunt Geri sent Kellen & Campbell outfits to help celebrate the 4th of July. It was so nice of them to think of the kiddos, and so we just had to try them on. Also, it shows how big Mr. Kellen is getting... HUGE!!!

He thinks it's funny, too, because he's actually just a little guy! He sure did sport the outfit nicely!

Happy Father's Day Part 3

Well anymore, Liv usually does most of the posting. Since the day was "my day", I thought it would be appropriate to do the posting myself. Here is a picture of our two most precious gifts from God. What a blessing it is to share our lives with our two children. Raising children is definitely a difficult job, especially since there is no manual to follow. But it has been so rewarding and brought so much joy to our lives. We praise our God every day for His goodness!

Father's Day Part 2

After Auntie Arlene's, we went to MiMi and Pawpaw's house for dessert. We spent alot of the evening outside, since the weather was so nice. Here is little Kellen posing for the camera with his sporty, new shirt.

The kids all wanted to swim in the pond. Campbell didn't swim, but she had a great time playing on the dock and in the shallow water.

Father's Day Part 1

Father's Day was a busy day, although filled with a lot of family fun. After a nice church service (in which Liv walked the halls with Kellen), we went to Auntie Arlene's for lunch. Uncle Ry had the rare opportunity to hold Kellen since there are usually many others in line to hold him. He was pretty proud that he was able to hold Kellen without using the binky...especially when Kellen started to cry after Ry passed him onto the next person.

Cousin Steve was in town from Boston visiting Uncle Ray & Auntie Arlene, so we got to enjoy some time with him as well. And finally, a picture of cousin Steve meeting Kellen for the first time.

Fancy Lady

First a bit of background on "fancy lady"... we ate dinner with Liv's Grandma Smock the other night and she called Campbell a "Fancy lady" after Campbell had put on some costume jewelry. Now, Campbell keeps referring to herself as "fancy lady" anytime she does something especially girlie... like wearing a dress, putting lotion on, applying Mommy's chapstick...or as you can see below, painting toenails.

Campbell had her toes painted the other week and the polish finally wore off. So job #1 this Sunday was for Aunt Weno to paint Campbell's nails.

Campbell was so excited to have her nails done. She sat very still and just watched with anticipation.

And the fingernails were at added bonus!

Sibling Love

One Friday morning before work, Liv was feeding Kellen and Campbell woke up and decided it would be more fun to be in Kellen's crib than in her own bed. After Kellen was done, he just had to snuggle with his sissy in bed... the following are the moments captured.

Campbell tried to share her blanket with Kellen, but he was not too sure he wanted any part of it.
Then, she wanted to show him the correct way to suck his fingers.

Kellen really does love his big sister. He seems to light up whenever she comes near. It is so neat to see their love for each other even at such a young age.

Old Baby

Campbell is holding Mommy's dolly that she got as a Christmas gift from HER Mommy & Daddy in 1985. It is a very special dolly that Daddy affectionately called "Old Dolly." Thanks, Daddy, that makes Mommy feel REAL good :)

Seeing that the head is just barely attached, she was told to handle it very carefully. Here she is being nice and gentle... now if we can just get her to do that with Kellen!

Kellen, Our Mover and Shaker

Usually, Kellen scoots down his bed during the night, and we hear him kicking the bedrail early in the morning. So we get up and move him back up to the top end of the crib. Well, this night he was perfectly quiet and we knew something was up. Sure enough, we peeked in his room and found him completely flipped around with his head against the foot rail. No wonder we didn't hear any kicking!

He has really found his fingers at night. Here is the standard sleep pose...right hand fingers in the mouth, while the left hand holds the right one in.

Birthday Party

On Sunday we celebrated several birthdays at once...Mommy, Aunt Weno, Memaw, and Uncle Ry. Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures with the kids and Memaw or Uncle Ry...but we captured some good moments with Aunt Weno and Auntie Arlene.

Aunt Weno brought a supersized bubble wand to the party, which was a big hit with Campbell. Of course she ended up with bubble juice all over...but that's to be expected!

Kellen got some quality time with Auntie Arlene. He really enjoyed sitting outside, under the swing canopy.

Playtime with Austin

Campbell's friend Austin came over last weekend to visit. We got the wagon out and both of them really enjoyed it!

We were about ready to put the wagon away and thought we'd see if the kids would give each other hugs. You can follow the action shots...

Bath Time

After giving Campbell and Kellen baths, we put them both on the countertop to finish drying off. Campbell thought it was the funniest thing, and we think Kellen was having fun too!
