New Year's Eve

Campbell had some friends over for New Year's Eve. This is her friend Ava, who is also her long, lost Cinderella princess buddy.

Aunt Weno's Family Fun Night

Well, I'm not too sure how to even begin this post because it will probably seem pretty strange to most people. Andy's Aunt Weno is a very fun person and anyone who knows her knows that she likes a good time and likes to plan a good time. The Christmas tradition has become the Annual Aunt Weno Family Fun Night, where she plans some surprise way to thoroughly embarrass all family members. It is Andy's Gerig side of the family, Auntie Arlene & Uncle Ray, their sons and one daughter-in-law from Boston, Ry, Char, and us. This year, we also had Ry's girlfriend, Leda, and her brother Danny, join us. It was lots of fun, but lived up to the billing of being really embarrassing. Aunt Weno rented the cow limo for us all to ride in.

We even brought the car seats for the little ones...

although it all scared Campbell a little bit.

I looked over a few times, and she and Kellen were holding hands. It melted their momma's heart!

We made a few stops along the way to sing some carols. One of the stops just happened to be at Liv's parents' house for some hot cider and cookies.

After the fun of the limo, we headed back to Aunt Weno's house to play some bingo. Aunt Weno always has several long tables set up with gifts she has collected throughout the year. If you win the bingo game, then you get to choose a gift. Kellen didn't play this year, but he's patiently waiting until he's big enough to get some of the goods.

Kellen really took to Leda's brother, Danny. Unfortunately, he left the next day to go back home to California. Kellen will miss him much!

A very fun night was had by all! Thanks, Aunt Weno, for another wonderful- yet embarrassing- evening.

Christmas Day

This was definitely the first year that Campbell was truly excited for Christmas and understood the whole the excitement of Christmas morning. We also made sure to talk about and explain the true excitement of the day being Jesus' birth. She understood this as well as an almost 3-year old can but those seeds have been planted.

And wouldn't you know it! Look who learned to crawl Christmas morning! It's an army crawl, but getting into the presents (his or his sister's) was just the motivation the little guy needed to get on the move!!! Daddy got an old Cub's hat wrapped up to signify the Cubs game we're going to go to this summer. We can't wait! Kellen got a "Chuck the Talking Truck" for Christmas. He loved it!

Campbell had a bag full of presents, mostly things to do with princesses. After we had our family Christmas, Memaw, Uncle Ry, his girlfriend Leda, and her brother Danny came over for brunch. Leda french braided Campbell's hair.

Later that afternoon, we went over to Mimi and PawPaw's house for Christmas dinner. Mimi had made a beautiful pork crown roast with stuffing. Not only did it look amazing, it tasted amazing, too. Good job Mims!

We had a wonderful Christmas spent with loved ones and some new friends. We are so truly blessed to be so close to our family and friends.

Christmas Eve

Our 2nd Christmas celebration was at Mimi & PawPaw's house with Mimi's side of the family. Lots of little ones and good food, too.

Each of the 4th generation kids got to open a present given to them by their grandparents. Kellen was upset that eveyone thought they needed to help him open his gift. Or maybe, he was just getting tired.
